Many people who have bought a hybrid car have done so without too much consideration. Having listened to others enthusing about the hybrid phenomenon they hurry along to the nearest dealership to join the hybrid club. No doubt most drive on a high as they experience low gas bills; but will this euphoria be sustained?

If low gas bills are the sole reason for investing in a hybrid car then buyer beware for all may not be as it seems. There are horror stories out there from initially delighted hybrid car owners whose dreams became nightmares as maintenance costs depleted any fuel savings experienced in hybrid ownership.
A little pre-purchase education should definitely be a consideration for all 'would be' hybrid car owners and if you are thinking of buying a hybrid then perhaps you could get a 'buyers advantage' by knowing a little about the product you want to invest in. Cars are expensive and hybrid cars are more expensive than their non-hybrid counterparts; isn't it in your best interest to make an educated decision rather than take a stab in the dark when planning such a major investment?
