Testimonials from recent Convention-goers and participants:

What a great Convention. Our little group got a lot out of this 2002 Convention. We take it the way it comes, and it was great. Even my daughter came up for the Saturday Mass with her non-Catholic friend. They stayed for the night, and they both loved it. They both want to go to Hearts Aflame next year.

My wife and I have attended the last two Conventions and have found them spiritually rewarding. We even attended the evening put on by the Hearts Aflame team this year on the Saturday evening. We need have no fear for the future of the church in New Zealand. Do you know what I really like about it is not only the Beautiful Masses and enriching talks given to encourage and challenge us in our Faith walks, but also the beautiful blending of the traditional worship with the what you might call the modern (charismatic). Who would have ever thought that every Catholic no matter what their age would raise their hands in praise as everyone in that Convention centre did on Sunday and wanted to do so? If there are knockers, do not take it heart. It was obvious that the Holy Spirit was active in your planning and at the Convention. God Bless you all. We will pray for the continuation of the Convention and would be delighted to be of any help we can taking into consideration that we live in Balclutha, South Otago.

Congratulations on this year's event. The content and format was brilliant and will produce great fruit for the Church. God Bless you and your team.

Hi, That was a great Convention. I really liked to see so many priests dressed like priests and witnessing to their vocation. Keep it up.

The New Plymouth crowd had a great weekend at Auckland.

Thank you for all the hard work you have done over the last 9 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of the 7 Conventions I have attended (I was overseas for two of them so couldn't attend). May God continue to bless you and the wonderful work you do for Him.

We in Morrinsville had this great idea that we would fundraise the money for next year’s bus to come to the Convention. So therefore it will be more inviting for parishioners to go, as they will not have the cost of the bus. We have started planning our fundraising already, and we will be bringing a bus load hopefully full (45 seater) up next year!

Congratulations on the past weekend. We feel the Lord was blessing us all mightily. Someone I know was reflecting on what makes the Eucharistic Convention such as success and there are many reasons, but the biggest is that Our Lord is truly present, ministering to His people. We have got great feedback from all who attended over the weekend, and we at Hearts Aflame felt truly privileged to be a part of it all. I know in the past years after Hearts Aflame has finished, we come home so exhausted and wonder if it is the Lord's will that we continue in this (youth) ministry. After a time, the feedback comes in and we hear how people have been touched and how lives have been changed, and I guess if even one person comes closer to Jesus it seems to make it all worthwhile. I think in many ways the Eucharistic Convention is similar to Hearts Aflame. It seems to give people HOPE, in a world where this great gift from God is suffocated… God bless you abundantly for the great revival and interest that the Convention has generated. – From Hearts Aflame Organisers

“We thought we were transferred from Australia to New Zealand for my husband’s career. We now know we were transferred to reclaim our faith.”

“My father was actually converted from No Religion to Catholicism at your Convention during Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. My Mother had previously prayed for his conversion for their whole married life.”

“I’m looking forward to another ‘awesomely moving' weekend. We look on it as a kind of ‘recharging of batteries,’ with the superb speakers you always have who seem to touch your soul.”

“Please do not stop doing what you do because I won’t stop coming. This year I brought my 14 years old boy, and he loved it. He said it was nothing like what he was expecting.”

“The Conference was an experience like no other I've had. Ultimately, I learned much about myself through preparing to speak, and I'm still trying to sort those things out in my mind. What great people you have to associate with! Once again, thank you for everything. You have blessed me with one of the greatest experiences of my life.” -- Scott Goudeau, 2002 Convention speaker and musician.
