The
Eucharistic Convention The 2010 Convention now concluded we are well into organising our 2011 event. We have a special weekend planned for next year and will divulge more about it as we firm up arrangements. Meanwhile have a look through this site to get an idea of what the convention is all about. To see what happened in years previous to 2010 go to the ARCHIVE button at the bottom of this page. JOHN PORTEOUS coordinator
This year's convention was challenging to say the least. We had two speakers pull out because of illness; one at the 11th hour. On the face of it this would spell disaster. As it turned out however, we have just experienced the most magnificent weekend one could immagine; some are saying this has been th best convention ever. This is not our work; we simply facilitate the event for the Lord's own pruposes. He surprises us often and this year His power shone through and triumphed over our small adversities. It is fitting that we reflect on the talks and homilies given by Cardinal Arinze at the 2010 Eucharistic Convention because his words are clear, concisive and affirming. I trust you enjoy reading what the Cardinal had to share with convention goers; I know those fortunate enough to be there were delighted with his presetations. Remember, these are very special annual events of a kind not available at many other Catholic Diocese worldwide. Consider attending in 2011; you won't regret it. John
